His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye
Accompanied by First Lady H.E. Angeline Ndayishimiye, the President of the Republic H.E. Evariste Ndayishimiye joined Christians of the Parish of St Francis of Assisi of Magarama, for this Sunday’s Eucharistic celebration dedicated to Jesus Christ, the Good Pastor.
As the Catholic Church celebrates today the day dedicated to Jesus Christ, the Good Pastor, and the international day of prayer for calling, His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye, in his greeting to Christians, once again gave thanks to God who keeps protecting the country and urges Burundians to preserve love and unity.
He asked all leaders in different sectors of national life to be true pastors so he could gather God’s sheep. He repeated the call on refugees to return to their homeland to join other Burundians in the reconstruction of the country.
With regard to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Father of the Nation called on all Burundians to strictly respect preventive measures, including washing their hands regularly and recommended every Burundian to get tested regularly and to consult, as soon as possible, the nearby health structures whenever it finds the first signs of this disease.
